The Cap Hill Block Party has arrived. While you’re filling out your schedule, don’t forget to plan out spots to visit between your sets. Capitol Hill features a couple of my favorite places to eat in all of Seattle.
Bar Recommendations
The Unicorn
Imagine a carnival and a bar put together. Enjoy unique drinks and food on the top floor and go play some vintage pinball machines or Ski Ball downstairs. A great place to get a buzz and kill some time before your next favorite act goes on.
The Runaway
Formerly known as Moe Bar, The Runaway has 18 bears on tap and serves Paseo’s Caribbean Food full menu. Grab a Cuban sandwich and and a draft beer while you rest your feet. Grab a $1 Polaroid with your crew to have a unique keep sake from the weekend.
Grim’s
Grim’s Provisions and Spirits is the place to go if you’re a pool junkie. They have fantastic happy hour deals like $5 Moscow Mules and $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon tall boys and free pool downstairs. If you’re looking for a quieter location, Grim’ tas that too. Drink downstairs or Eat and chill upstairs, this place is a good choice for groups that have a hard time making decisions.
Restaurant Recommendations
Capitol Hill Cider
This one isn’t listed on the map, but it’s one of my favorite spots in Capitol Hill. There cider selection alone is worth a bit of a walk. There’s 17 ciders on tap as well as a array of beers. Grab a flight and try a few different flavors. Offering full lunch and dinner menus and a speakeasy vibe, I highly recommend grabbing a meal here.
Paseo Caribbean Food
This is the best sandwich in Seattle. Paseo’s offers authentic Caribbean food at an affordable price. Offering sandwiches, bowls and full entrees, this menu will satisfy any level of hunger. This is arguably the best food at the Cap Hill Block Party.
Poquitos
Enjoy some upscale Mexican food while you sip on a watermelon margarita. Sourcing all their ingredients from local farms, you’ll pay a little more for your meal, but you will taste where that money went. Grab something simple like a couple tacos before you head home or a full platter of carne asada before you head inside. They have a menu for every time of the day.
Cap Hill Block Party Coffee
Fuel up on Seattle finest coffee. Both establishments have delicious hot and cold drinks and a nice atmosphere. In a city known for its coffee, both of these spots carry on the legacy.
