D Valley Interviews With Respect My Region

D Valley has risen to become one of Seattle’s premiere street rappers over the past few years.  His grind on and off the microphone has been crazy and after recently releasing his Valley Scores Again (Mixtape), I think he’s truly solidified his spot in the Seattle scene.

With connections to both the Bay and Atlanta, Valley has been putting on for traps all over Seattle.  I’m really feeling that ‘iMove’ record, that’s been getting some plays in our office.

I recently had the opportunity to link up with Valley and chop it up with him about #VSA and the Seattle scene.  Check out what he had to say below.

RMR: What’s going on D Valley? You’ve been pushing this music for some years but I’ve seen the grind really blossom this past year. How do you feel about where you’re currently at? What’re your feelings on the new project #VSA?
D Valley: I feel great honestly, I feel I’ve grown as an artist tremendously. My music headed in the right direction we’re causing a lot of traffic to the brand as well. Big things are bound to keep happening. #VSA is my gift to the streets. I been goin’ hard these past couples years & achieving a lot of things many people don’t get to see in their lifetime, where I’m from we call it SCORING. So I named the project (Valley Scores Again) in dedication of me still continuing to move heavy & accomplish big Goals. #VSA is a all around great project with great production on it & no features. I Love the sound from beginning to end.

RMR: What’s your favorite records from the project? Why?
D Valley: ‘Try & Take Me’ is one. From the hard beat to the fire lyrics it tell’s the story on how many times I was counted out & put in situations where it was very little chances of me coming out alive or on top. “I Gotta Chase It” is another favorite. I reached out to Atlanta producer (Stackboytwuan) for the instrumental & once I heard the track it just gave me that “hustler” feel and I went in speaking on how I get up & go chase the cash.

RMR: Seattle is NOT known for its street music but you’ve been campaigning for the streets and grabbed a nice buzz out here (and out of state). How do you feel about the local music scene?
D Valley: The Local Music scene is on fire & on the rise. I wanna see a lot more creativity & high-quality production this year from Seattle. Quality is everything.

RMR: What other artists from the town do you listen to?
D Valley: I listen to Cam The Mac & D Menace

RMR: You’ve done a lot of work with artists from the bay. How’d you get linked up down there? It seems like the Bay x The Northwest have always meshed really well.
D Valley: I got linked in through connections. I know somebody that knows them & the tie the strings. Once we link, the rest is history good vibes and great music.

RMR: What’s next for D Valley? What’s the rest of 2017 looking like?
D Valley: I plan on droppingn 2 more Full projects this year. I have A crazy record wit Zaytoven that’s on the way, a lot more music videos & just work on top of working hard. I got a big and busy year ahead of me so make sure y’all stay tuned. Go check out my brand new video on Worldstarhiphop & YouTube titled “iMove” produced by ToppCatt

RMR: Anything else you want to say?
