DJ Snake, the most popular bass DJ from Paris, just released a melodic downtempo track that puts an official ending to the summertime feelgood songs we loved this year.
With an angelic voice from Max Frost, DJ Snake clocks in this track at three minutes and three seconds. It gives way to his new sound that he’s been using, most notably on his debut album “Encore”. Such tracks that can be given as examples are “Let Me Love You” with pop singer Justin Bieber, “Sober”, “Middle”, and “4Life” with G4shi. I believe this more downtempo and less “crazy” side of DJ Snake started when he and Major Lazer collaborated for 2015’s most popular EDM track “Lean On”.
Artist Spotlight: DJ Snake
William Sami Etienne Grigahcine, who we all know as DJ Snake, was born to Algerian Parents in 1986, and grew up in Ermont, outside of Paris, France. He started Djing at 14, and began producing at 19. He is most known to the public as the producer of 2014 EDM hit song, “Turn Down For What” with Lil’ Jon, and one of the collaborating producers for the number 1 2015 EDM track “Lean On”, which also features MO, and Major Lazer. What a lot of people don’t know is that he started out in the mainstream music industry by producing for Lady Gaga on her album “Born This Way”. He then produced songs with DJ White Shadow on here album “ARTPOP”, including her hit track on that album, “Applause”.
He then became popular with “Lean On” and “Turn Down For What”, as well as “Get Low” with LA producer Dillon Francis.
In August of 2016, DJ Snake released his debut album, Encore, which features tracks with Skrillex, Young Thug, Justin Bieber, and Jeremih.
