The king of Ballard, Grynch is an old school hip hop head who’s not trying to steal christmas. Anthony Danza has the same old school soul, but with a talent for mixing it with the new school. When their powers combined together, they created ‘On A Good One’.
A six track EP boasting an astounding 11 different featured artists, this project sprung from a classic Grynch song of the same name off his previous EP ‘Street Lights’. A remixed version of the song which originally featured Kokane now includes Gifted Gab alongside the two artists.
All but one of the songs were exclusively produced by Danza and each track was also mixed and mastered by D-Sane at Digital Age Sound Studio. This album shines bright like the golden years and the fifth track is a tribute to the golden voice of hip-hop. ‘To: Nate Dogg’ features another 213 member, and friend, Warren G. Also featured is Crytical and Wanz, a talented singer with the deep bass sound that Nate was known for.
I saw Grynch and Anthony Danza open up for Warren G at the Nectar Lounge on July 7th. It was nothing but old school vibes as they had the room bouncing and singing along. You can catch these cats live next at Capitol Hill Block Party on July 22nd. Check the album and let me know what your favorite track is.
