HANiF drops new album, talks meeting Kanye, and more!

HANiF drops new album with 5th Sequence for the 12 Inch Vinyls EP that was released about a month ago. I am super late on this one (bloggers have been dropping like flies around here and your boy has been BUSY with extra capital letters). The boom bap’ish tape features some solid lyricism from Luck HANiF, some dope beats from 5th, and the usual humor from Luck (See Gentrify music video or listen to the EP!). The King of The Northwest is not slowing down as he seems musically refreshed and is currently running around the country with Slum Village and Pete Rock.

Check out the tour dates here.

You can grab 12 Inch Vinyls on iTunes here or stream/purchase at Bandcamp below.

HANiF also recently had an interview in Portland’s Willamette Week and discussed numerous topics like meeting Kanye, where he is at in his career, Portland hip-hop, and brushed on some political opinions.

My favorite exert came when he was discussing the Eric Garner riots:
“Eric Garner was not killed because he was black. Eric Garner was killed because he was poor. And poor people are not represented by a police force that’s there to protect property. He didn’t own any property, so of course you’re going to be discriminated against. If you’re not a shareholder in a corporation, you don’t get a vote. That’s how it works.”

HANiF also dropped a dope new track ‘Crack Era’ produced by fellow Portlandian Stewart Villain. He has been clowning rappers and social media trolls on these new records…this record is MAD dope.
