Travis Scott And Quavo Collab On New Album "Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho"

The collaborative album Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho by Travis Scott and Quavo has been out for a few weeks now, and finally, the sale numbers are in. According to Nielsen Music, “the album sold 90,000 units in the first week with 17,000 of them being traditional albums.” As you can guess, most people are streaming music nowadays. The album was most successful online with 105 million streams. It also made it to the number 3 spot on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

First off, the artwork for this album was the best part. The art was done by Ralph Steadman, the same person who did the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas cover. It’s a unique piece done by Ralph and made the album an instant classic.

For a lot of music listeners, you could agree that Travis Scott and Quavo are near the top in the hip-hop and rap industry. With that being said, you would expect the highest quality music from them. When I say highest quality music, in this situation, I mean something with a nice beat, catchy hooks, and some halfway decent lyrical content that gets you feeling some type of way.

I think these two music stars accomplished just that with a few of the songs on the album. “Modern Slavery,” “Black & Chinese,” “Go,” and “Where U From,” for example, are all solid songs individually. Overall though, most of the songs sounded the same. The lyrics seemed repetitive so, there really wasn’t any valuable content in the songs to take away.

Disclaimer: I’m a huge fan of Travis Scott. I’ve seen him live more times than any other artist; I don’t have anything against him. I just expect more out of the album he’s releasing considering he’s the most hyped artist out there. On a side note though, his live performances are on another level, a must to see. It’s one of the wildest live performances I’ve been a part of.

I hope Travis Scott takes the criticism he’s getting from the listeners the right way. Hopefully, he realizes that listeners have to have something to take away from the art. Listening to songs with the same content over and over again isn’t going to fly anymore, and this collaborative album is proof.
