Marijuana delivery

Marijuana Delivery Legal In Oregon

In the new recreational market, marijuana delivery is every established user’s dream. Marijuana delivery. Good ole fashioned weed brought to you at your own home, on your dealer’s time of course. This is historically one of the traditional ways smokers received their black market buds.

With Washington being one of the pioneer states to legalize recreational marijuana, you may find it hard to believe it can’t actually be delivered to you, legally that is. Though Oregon wasn’t the first state to legalize recreational marijuana, they are setting the standard for expansion.

Marijuana Delivery

According to KGW8, late last year, a bill was passed that would allow 117 retail licenses to deliver cannabis straight to the comfort of your own home. This bill was passed but then was put on hold until the Oregon liquor control committee could adapt to this new amenity.

There are some limitations on the matter. For example, marijuana retailers can only deliver within the city they’re licensed in. The marijuana must be transported in a locked box and secured to the delivery vehicle (that means no bike messengers). The deliverer can carry no more than $3,000 worth of product at one time and transactions can only be done at residential homes.

Keep in mind you don’t only have to be a medical patient to have your cannabis delivered. This is not only a big step for Oregon, but for the whole entire marijuana industry itself. The delivery service aspect of cannabis opens doors for more business opportunities, local economic growth, and more available jobs.

With this law being passed so close to home, we in Washington (and all the other legal states) can only hope our states blend it in with each booming cannabis industry.

Rescheduling cannabis may be the next step to open up delivery in more states. I mean, if I can get my groceries delivered to my house with beer, I see it only fair that my weed can be delivered too.
