Kai Wachi is on a roll right now and we’re not mad. Between his Die Young EP, recent festival appearances, and teasers on his Insta story, it was only a matter of time before he dropped a new one. Pairing up with another Pacific Northwest local Macntaj, MUD is yet again another great example of pushing the boundaries of hybrid trap.
The track starts out with a strong versus by Macntaj while maintaining that edgy Kai Wachi sound. The duo does a great job painting a dark, ominous collaboration that growls with stealth and slaps the listener. The track does lack a strong second drop that we’ve come to love out of Kai Wachi but leaves you with a strong melodic outro.
