New J. Cole High For Hours

J. Cole is headed for Platinum status again.  The new album, For Your Eyez Only just went gold.  Cole’s last album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, went platinum.  “The album went platinum with no features,” we know you know.  We just weren’t ready to forgo the hip-hop accomplishment yet.  Hip-hop is thriving and J. Cole is a big reason behind that. Before the Eyez album, J. Cole had released two bangers that didn’t end up on the final track list.  Thus releasing a song post album is only natural.  Here enters J. Cole High For Hours.

The record starts off with ‘This is called being high as shit…for hours.”  Three verses filled with a string of questions held together by a cannabis influenced thought pattern.  Cole ponders the United States of America, power, and conversations with Barack Obama.  In fact, the entire second verse is dedicated to his conversation with Barry.  Politically charged, the North Carolina emcee says if a revolution were to take place then the ‘over takers’ will be consumed with human nature as a result of the power structure.  With advice from Obama and a smooth jam produced by Elite and Cam O’b it seems like Cole still had some things to say.
