This year’s Safe In Sound Festival was a little different than year’s past. A lineup without Zomboy or Excision can definitely make or break an event however once WaMu finally opened it’s doors, everyone’s excitement really leveled up.
Once I got inside, LAXX was already tearing things up. I was only able to catch about 10 minutes of his set but it was arguably one of the most hype times of my night. This dude was really dropping some of the heaviest hybrid trap I’ve ever heard.
After LAXX was this dude San Holo. Going into this festival I enjoyed most of what I had heard on his Soundcloud. His most recent release with Jauz starts off pretty sing-songy but gets outright grimey as soon as the first drop hits. For me though, his set started off way too soft and I ended up using that time to socialize around WaMu.

Feed Me & NGHTMRE followed up San Holo and both artists blew me away. Feed Me dropped a ton of hard dance music and the crowd went INSANE when he mixed in some Rezz. That particular moment might have been the highlight of my night up until Borgore came on stage.
Once ‘Daddy Borgore’ started mixing it seemed as if every #basshead turned up harder than ever before. Following this year’s Safe In Sound, one thing is still certain. Seattle is definitely the bass capitol of the United States and anyone who says otherwise can ask Zomboy, Borgore, LAXX, Excision, or Datsik. These guys already know whats good.
