Haiti Benefit show SOL

SOL & Neumos Hosting Haiti Relief Benefit Concert

On November 17th SOL is hosting a benefit concert at Nuemos and I’ll be attending with some of my Respect My Region friends. It has been a while since SOL has performed here in his home town of Seattle so for many local hip hop listeners, this is something to really be excited about.

After reaching out to SOL we learned that him and his family were seriously affected by the most severe storm to hit the Caribbean over the past 10 years.

“As Hurricane Matthew tore through Haiti, devastating Sol’s family’s village of Les Abricots it destroyed or flooded nearly all of the homes and buildings in the area, including Sol’s aunt’s and the 10 village schools she runs. Most of the tall, fruit bearing trees have been knocked over, the livestock are dead and had to be eaten right away, crops have been destroyed, the clean water sources are gone, all of the medicine in the dispensary is wet and unusable and the schools need to be re-built. Despite the lack of news coverage, the situation is getting worse day by day. There are already reports of a new cholera outbreak and extreme hunger in the areas hardest hit by the hurricane.”FB Event

Over the last year and a half SOL has been traveling the world experiencing and exploring different cultures. Since returning home he has learned more about the destruction that hurricane Matthew did to his family’s homeland of Les Apricots in Haiti.

Tickets are $25 a piece and all proceeds will be donated to the Haiti relief fund.

We strongly encourage all of Respect My Region’s followers to attend. Not only will this show be one for the books, but you will also reap in the benefits of helping other people in their time of need.
