I’ve been MIA on the hip-hop side of things for a few months. After preparing for the greatest day of my life, getting married, taking two weeks off eating seafood and tacos on the beach in Mexico, and getting back to my 14 jobs upon arrival state side…I’m back like Jesse James!
Needless to say, it’s been a minute and half since the last Top 10 In Rotation. These post might as well be called “whats in my inbox since I last had a moment to breath.”
Check out some of my favorite records from around the northwest and let us know which is your favorite on Twitter @RespectMyRegion.
1. Slightly Flagrant – All I Know
Seattle’s unofficial ‘most turnt in 2016’ award recipients release a banger with ‘All I Know.’ Taane and Macntaj continue to push the visual game with the heavy hitting crowd pleaser.
Have you caught Slightly Flagrant live yet?
2. Illmaculate – Oscar Nominee
I know people will think other joints on this list are hotter than this, but this is my type of shit. Illmaculate is a legend that I have admired for a decade and this beat is super dope.
3. Raz Simone – Slide
Have you become numb to Raz Simone dropping quality content yet? Ever since Missin Joog’s I’ve heard more chatter about Raz from my boys outside of the Northwest than I do locally!
While Trapenese’ and ‘All I Think Of’ are clocking more plays, I preferred this record on Raz’s recent releases.
4. LROC ft. Aaron J – No More Love
If you haven’t paid attention to LROC yet, you’re losing! LROC has been making seriously consistent moves for a year straight.
The Northwest artist blends wisdom and game inside drug bars with ease. Shouts to Lil D-Rock on the beat too, this kid is like 15!
5. Cam The Mac Only A Man
Cam The Mac drops in with a smooth laid back punch line filled release. Cam’s bars don’t waver through his cannabis laced west side slang.
Favorite line: “I’m Robert Horry with the threes I’m Blazing”
6. Nottus Tre ft. Donte Peace
Man, this is my joint.
I’m a sucker for soul samples and Brainstorm put this one in a casket. Definitely nice to hear a Seattle spitter tear up a soulful beat. Nottus Tre and Donte Peace really connected perfectly on this.
7. King Leez & Guce – Just That Type ft. Kokane
Tacoma’s King Leez grabs Kokane for the first time since the name change with this Guce collaboration. ‘Just That Type’ is a serious west coast banger. Are you a fan?
8. TSpoon ft. Larry June – Big Money
Soar Loser gang is a problem.
The Portland super group is really pushing boundaries out there quality wise. TSpoon releases a slapper with Larry June that is definitley worth at least one play.
9. Jake Kost – The Kost Of Reked Supras ft Supastition & Reks
Portland sliding in on the list again! Jake Kost pulls down some major looks with Reks and Supastition on his release, The Kost of Reked Supras.
10. Joey Kash – Mac Era Crack Era
True classic hip-hop inspiration from the visual all the way to the record. Joey Kash‘s west coast slur over an east coast sound made for a dope sounding production.
