Top 5 Must See Artists at Goldrush Festival | RMR GOLDRUSH MIXTAPE

On the 17th of November, I will be embarking on a journey back in time to the Wild West, under the Arizona sun. Relentless Beats, Universatile Music, and Global Dance have teamed up for one of the biggest festivals Phoenix has seen in a long time, GoldRush Festival. The main headliners are Migos, Dillon Francis, RL Grime, Lil Uzi Vert, Marshmello, and also features special performances by Excision and Claude VonStroke.

The Golden Gorge

This is the mainstage. The stream where all the prospectors decide to set up shop and dig for their gold. This stage will have Dillon Francis, Migos, Marshmello, Lil Uzi Vert, and RL Grime (the headliners) perform, as well as Rezz, Keys N Krates, San Holo, Ghastly, and a very special performance by Excision. Maybe he’ll be playing old school dub tracks, like what he did with Datsik at Lost Lands? Or possibly he’ll bring the Paradox Stage with him. Either way it’s going to be mindblowing

The Hideout

My best guess is that the renegades and outlaws will come here to take a load off, listening to only the housiest of the house. Hosted by Claude VonStroke and RBDeep, this stage will (most likely) be strictly house. I personally think this is going to be a great stage, bringing in not only deep but garage, experimental, and other different types of house. Christian Martin, Shiba San, CamelPhat, and Walker & Royce. Absolutely amazing artists with a lot of talent.

Pioneer Peak

This stage is going to be the ‘peak’ of all the performances this weekend in terms of talent. Indonesian-native Rich Chigga, label head Brillz, masked mystery Malaa, cult-favorite Mija, and a freaking b2b set with A-Trak and Baauer. Honestly it couldn’t get that much better than this stage, unless of course you brought in deadmau5 (hint hint Relentless Beats).

Top 5 Artists To See At Goldrush Festival

5. Brillz

The king of twonk. Deep trap, dub and twerk music are his specialties, and rarely ever steps out of those genres, because he’s so good at it. He’s worked with LAXX, Macntaj, Party Favor, Snails, Ghastly and so many more great artists. On top of all that, he’s the owner of the new label “Twonk” which, in less than 6 months, has already had releases from Wuki, Eliminate, Bro Safari, Barely Alive, and Yookie, among others. You can check out his most recent release here:

4. Mija

I’m still sad that I missed her at Paradiso Festival,  because I heard that she absolutely slayed it. Mija hasn’t been here long, but even through the short time that she’s been in the spotlight, she’s gained a cult following throughout the world. Her most notable track that I feel is absolutely underrated is “Secrets” that got released in March. Please take the time to watch the music video, It’s an amazing compilation of her adventures in 2016.

3. Excision

The heaviest of the heavy. The biggest of the big. His name alone is terrifying. Excision is the slayer of all dancefloors. Not once have I been disappointed in his performances. He knows how to give not only what the fans want, but what they didn’t know they needed. On top of that he released an insane remix pack for his latest album “Virus”, which features Seattle natives Dimibo and Seven Lions, as well as Badklaat, Eliminate, Getter, Dillon Francis, 12th Planet, Wooli, Barely Alive, and so many more. You can check out my favorite track from that remix pack here.

2. Rich Chigga

He is the prime example of viral popularity gone right. Rich Chigga, from Indonesia, is just over 18, and is already a hip hop sensation. In only a year and a half he has views in the multi millions. You know him from Dat $tick, but honestly, his best song is far from that track. Personally, my favorite would have to be Chaos. His flow on that track is absolutely insane, and the background audio makes it all the more enjoyable (seriously, go to the music video, and pay attention to the beginning and the end, the background audio, with him talking. It’s hilarious.)

Here’s his BRAND NEW track with 21 Savage, “Crisis”.

1. Dillon Francis

The man, the meme, the legend. Words can’t explain this person. Only his snapchat stories.

His antics are just a portion of what we get from him however.

Dillon Francis has a wide variety of genres he’s produced under his belt, including deep house(under the name DJ Hanzel, a dutch producer who is very critical of those around him, especially Dillon, whom he despises.)

Typically in the world of electronic music, you have hilarious people who are great at making memes, or funny snapchat stories, but are terrible producers or DJs. Then you have amazingly talented artists who are sort of monotone online. Dillon Francis has somehow found a way to combine both traits to form a superhybrid DJ that will eventually take over the world. All hail future leader Dillon Francis.
