Best Northwest Music Videos

Mpyre’s Top 10 Music Videos From April 2016

After a long week at the 9-5 and crazy hours at the new studio, I finally got around to checking the RMR music folder.  Sometimes the selection is slim and others, like this month, everybody and their momma’s momma drops something.

This month’s hip-hop/rap article features what I consider to be the best northwest music videos dropped during and around the month of April. You’ll hear some dope music from the likes of Dave B, Sam Lachow, Sadistik, Cassow, Kung Foo Grip, Lil Ripp, and more.

There is no real ranking to this list and we hope you support each of the artists by following them in the appropriate social media locations.

If you enjoy a track don’t forget to share it to your friends or hit up the artist to work!

Top 10 Best Northwest Music Videos From April 2016

Sadistik – Out The Dark

If you aren’t familiar with Sadistik, he is an LA based artist that is originally from Washington.  He has built a global niche fan base and flexes an unparalleled lyrical skill amongst his peers.

Don’t believe me?  Check out Salo Sessions or any of his past work.

Dave B – Leaves

This video is kind of strange to me. The mix of gloom and warm/bright colors doesn’t mesh well to me, but Dave B and Jake One connect for some beautiful Seattle music.

Sleep Steady – Fight Kicks ft. Konrad OldMoney

Sleep Steady has been a local favorite of mine for a long time.  Glad to see these guys really making noise.  Fight Kicks is featured on the UFC 2 video game and the music they’ve been making lately is crazy.  Excited to see the rest of 2016 for these guys.

Cassow – No Love

Cassow has been industry ready for like 3 years.  Never compromising quality and keeping the music original.  The sound on this record is very unique but fits in well with current popular hip-hop tracks.

Kung Foo Grip – Zerkin

Kung Foo Grip is filthy…don’t ever sleep.  This creative visual just about gave me a seizure, but I guess that’s the price you pay for Zerkin.

Sam Lachow – Friends Funk & Liqour ft. Ariana DeBoo

The production on this is crazy.  Sam only lets loose on one verse but that was the right thing to do on this track…just listen to the beat breathe on the first 16!

Young Junne – The Goat ft. Locco

Former ‘No Limit’ emcee Young Junne links with Locco and Metro Booming for ‘The Goat.’  While I wasn’t crazy about the hook on this record, Junne shows some real strength in his verse.  This kid has talent.

The Last Artful, Dodgr – Squadron

The Last Artful, Dodgr’s Fractures EP was dope. Artful is incredibly unique, almost reminiscent of Missy Elliot. Bars with a super clean visual.

Jesse James – Addicted ft. Huey P

Seattle’s Jesse James and Huey P connect for the stripper filled commercial banger ‘Addicted.’  Jesee and Huey have been sharing a ton of stages lately, it’s good to see them connecting on wax.

Lil Ripp – Promises

Ripp is at it with his first visual of ’16.  The Tacoma rapper hasn’t stopped making moves for the past 3+ years.  This track is real dope but the video could have used a stabilizer and some smoother post-editing.

Keep it up Ripp! We see you making moves.
