Lucky 2015

Who else got Lucky last Friday?!

I can’t write this article right now. My brain is too stupid and my body is too weak from the shenanigans at Lucky 2015. Instead, I am just going to do a series of shout outs to the people who made this weekend a memorable one. Here we go:

Shout out to Brillz who I apparently I walked past several times before gates opened but was too distracted to notice upon being notified that I would miss his entire set because my volunteer shift started at the same time. Ironic, no?

Shout out to the awesome WaMu Staff Pro people at the bass stage. I don’t remember any of your names but I will always remember you as the dopest crowd management staff WaMu has ever had. I even got one of you to go ham during Sound Remedy’s set.

Shout out to the girl who stared at me for a good minute during Seven Lions, pointed me out to her friend, smiled and then walked away. I don’t know if you wanted to fight me or dance with me, but either way, you should’ve come talked to me. Hit me up on Craigslist Missed Connections or something.

Shout out to all the rave booty. As a lady who both envies and appreciates quality rave booty, I’d like to thank all the ladies who do months of squats and then show up to these events in tiny shorts.

Shout out to the Tinder matches I didn’t end up meeting and the one I did meet. Ran into you by coincidence at the water fountain and then I ran away. It’s not that you weren’t cool; I just really had to pee.

Shout out to Cole, the Staff Pro guard at the trance stage. I’m sorry if I kept bothering you. I thought you were attractive and frankly, I was trying to get at it. Yes, ROTC did your physique good. I hope you’re not like 19.

Huge shout out to my rave squad, the Special Effects (SFX) crew and all of the volunteers I’ve met since working at these events who went from strangers to friends real quick. At every event I have volunteered at, I both make new friends and reconnect with friends I’ve volunteered with before. Hanging out with you guys makes my night.

Shout out to all the Lucky attendees this year for keeping yourself safe and getting filthy on the dance floor. Being a part of the SFX crew has been the highlight of my festival career because I swear I get the best view, and not just of the artists, but of you guys. I genuinely enjoy taking your pictures, getting you water, interacting with everyone and making sure you are all having a good time.

Shout out to USC Events for always making their events unforgettable. I know you guys forgo sleep to make sure each festival is as huge and goes as seamlessly as possible. On behalf of all event goers in the Pacific Northwest, thank you guys for being awesome. I don’t even need a door on my bathroom stall.

Lastly, on a lower note, shout out to whoever stole my backpack and purse out of my car. The only thing you really stole that would be of value to you would be my passport and my iPod. But did you really have to take my clothes and makeup and my favorite deodorant? My favorite bra was in there too, and my headphones, and my phone charger, and this costume Lord of the Rings crown. Stealing is not very PLUR.

Overall, I’d say the night was a success, minus the car prowl thing. Thank you guys for coming out and raging with me, but only those of you that aren’t thieves. Let us know how your Lucky 2015 experience went!
