Zeds Dead, Ganja White Night, Louis The Child On Sunday Slaps 009

Sunday Slaps 009: Zeds Dead & Ganja White Night, Louis The Child

Samurai makes for a surprisingly chill hybrid of sounds between Zeds Dead and Ganja White Night. A good track to sink into and vibe with, this collaboration is a grail between two well-esteemed artists.

The track opens with piano chords and tribal chants and builds with dubstep-esque electronic wubs and a few well-placed drum rolls.

The intro had me hooked for its simplistic aesthetic, while the multifarious flow throughout the song was what kept me listening. If you like this track, you should check out the rest of Ganja White Night’s new EP, The Origins, or Zeds Deads last collab with Jauz, “Lights Go Down.”

I’m always amazed at the new forms of sound that come out of Louis The Child’s collaborations with other artists, and this one’s no different.

Jacob Banks‘ lyrics give this track exactly the soul and deep feel that it needs, while Louis The Child bring that perfect instrumental and electronic sound that I love them for. Diddy Pop is old-fashioned, raw and relatable, making it the perfect Sunday morning track to groove to.

This song also premiered on the new “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie, which just goes to show that these artists are gaining mainstream recognition. If you want to hear more from Louis The Child, I suggest checking out the recent EP they created with Whethan, titled “Honey.”

That does it for this week’s Sunday Slaps! If you enjoyed this, don’t forget to follow our other segments, Trap Tuesday, and Friday Features.
