17 Reasons To Celebrate New Years Eve at Resolution 2017

If in 2016 you have ever felt like you weren’t making the most out of your life, that you were longing for adventure and excitement, Resolution might be your opportunity.

I have spent most New Years at other parties. I’ve done champagne toasts and strange Asian New Years traditions. Trust me when I say, nothing else compares.

Here are 17 reasons to bring in the new years at Resolution 2017!

1 – Did you see the line up?! USC definitely outdid themselves this year for Resolution. Accompanying us on this year’s transition into the new year are: Above & Beyond, Adventure Club, Yellow Claw, Tritonal, Brillz, Party Favor, Slushii, Eptic, Delta Heavy, Sound Remedy, Trampa, Botnek, Cesqeaux, and North West favorite, Drexler!

2 – Why spend a your evening waiting for a ball to drop, when you can spend your night raging to massive bass drops?

3 – Slushii makes his Seattle debut! – Slushii has gained quite the following in 2016. And with good reason. Between his singles and remixes, we’re sure Slushii is only going to get bigger in 2017.

4 – Adventure Club’s New Album: Listen to it here!

5 – Sound Remedy’s last performance – Sound Remedy announced early last August that 2016 would be his final year playing shows. With Resolution taking place on the last day of the year, this means this is Sound Remedy’s last show ever. We are extremely lucky that he chose to share his final performance with the PNW and this certainly is not a performance you will want to miss. Read Sound Remedy’s announcement here!

6 – Above & Beyond performs at Reso finally!! To have a Resolution with them actually getting to play is huge. Last time we had them on our lineup, their flight got cancelled.

7 – WaMu Theater is the best indoor venue for hosting these raves. Recently, USC Events had to change venues for Freaknight and Lucky. But we are fortunate enough to be spending New Years at the center of the PNW, Seattle.

8 – Outfits on point! Resolution’s dress code calls for white and gold attire. This year expect to see attendees “dripping in gold.”

9 – Stage design/Production – Since I’ve been attending these festivals, USC Events has never let me down when it comes to design and production. From lights to sounds to special effects, expect them to pull out all the stops for this one.

10 – Meet your Tinder match. Take it from me, a self-proclaimed Tinder expert, there is no better place to meet a Tinder match than a music festival. If they turn out to be lame, you can easily lose them in a crowd. If you end up vibing, you can twerk, grind, and/or headbang with them into 2017.

11 – Get your New Year’s Kiss! The first and only time I’ve ever got a New Year’s kiss was at Resolution 2014. If you are ever trying to kiss a stranger with your favorite track playing in the background, Resolution would be the place.

12 – Even if you don’t get your kiss, when the clock strikes midnight, you will still be ringing in 2017 surrounded by all your friends, old and new.

13 – Glitter Booty MeetUp. As if Resolution on it’s own wasn’t wild enough, a few ravers have put together a meet-up for those of us who want their booty glittered. Check out their event page here!

14 – Selling out! For the first time in Resolution’s history, the festival is on track to sell out. How can it not with it’s epic lineup and stellar production? Be sure to get your tickets here!

15 – Giveaways! Lacking on funds this year? Share this article on Facebook and tag Respect My Region along with at least 1 friend to be entered to win two general admission tickets. If you’re 21+ make sure to tune into our next Facebook live-stream where we’ll discuss the Northwest music scene and give away a pair of VIP tickets!

16 – Say good-bye to 2016 by letting loose. Celebrating the closing of one door as we open a new one for 2017. Commemorating 2016’s passing while we admire the adventures, experiences and discoveries that came with it. Last years words belong to last years language – next year’s words await another voice.

17 – Start the new year having the best life-changing experience possible. Resolution 2017 is a great way to make some new friends or maybe even your life partner. To make an end is to make a beginning.  You never know what could happen!
