1800 YoungSmoke Drops Heart Felt Bangers In His New 'Broken Hearts' EP

Spokane Rapper 1800 YoungSmoke Drops Heartfelt Bangers in His New ‘Broken Hearts’ EP

Spokane artist 1800 YoungSmoke capped off his summer run releasing his 3-track EP Broken Hearts. The production and engineering are split between local producers/artists Legal Remedy and Sherm. It’s his first project release since dropping his debut studio album Broken Hearts Don’t Heal Fast, and is his most thoughtful music to date.

Leading up to the release of Broken Hearts, YoungSmoke dropped “W.Y.A.,” a single/music video with Houston artist Stackztootrill. Shot and directed by Lledrow, “W.Y.A.” is the prefect blend of comedy and hip-hop. YoungSmoke and Stackz give us straight bars over an infectious melody and beat while hitting some scenes in downtown Spokane.

The video is an underground masterpiece with a different scene for almost every bar and creativity pouring out the Lledrows’ lens. It not only gives a visual for the story within the song, but is just pure entertainment that makes you want to re-watch again and again.

Summer of Broken Hearts

1800 YoungSmoke is a versatile artists who can spit and flow with a high tempo. This is apparent in tracks such as “Mail Service” and “Energy.” Broken Hearts switches this up as 1800 YoungSmoke lets loose all of his demons and negativities and just talks to the people.

“Cutting Ties” is the most unique track on the EP as YoungSmoke uses a new alien-esque voice in the first verse that we haven’t yet heard before. However, the best track on Broken Hearts has got to be “A Lot To Think About” with its twangy guitar riff and bumping 808s. He opens up about his struggles with overthinking and depression, something most of us can relate to. He expresses the inner battle of wanting to move on but also wanting more of the same person that hurt you. “A Lot To Think About” has some of those same space-man lover boy vibes like Lil Uzi’s “20 Min.”

Over the last year we have seen a major growth spurt in 1800 YoungSmokes music and persona. As he continues to embrace all his feelings and emotions, his music has matured with him along the way. What do you think of these latest releases? Hit the comments after you listen and and let us know!
