The weekend of April 20th is one of the most exciting times of the year for states with legalized cannabis. This 420 weekend, Denver’s Fox Street Compound is hosting the second annual 420 On The Block music festival and block party. Inspired by retro airline travel evocative of classic carriers such as Pan Am, 420 On the Block is a 21+ event sponsored by The Green Solution, one of Colorado’s premier marijuana dispensaries.
Presented by High Rise Media, Live Nite Events, and Reggae Rise Up, this three-day event runs Friday, April 20th to Sunday, April 22nd, and celebrates Colorado’s cannabis culture. Featuring live art, a vendor village, immersive stages, cannabis education, and some crazy performances from some of the best Hip-Hop, Indie, EDM, Jam, and Reggae artists alive, On The Block encourages “passengers” to sit back, relax, and join the Mile High Club in style while experiencing cannabis culture’s premiere destination — the Mile High City.”
The music festival features Viceland reality TV star and rapper Action Bronson as one of the headliners, and also includes Jewish reggae/rock/hip-hop crossover Matisyahu, and a live-band performance from trip-hop/electronic duo Break Science featuring Adam Smirnoff, Jesus & the Shady Horns of Lettuce.
The experience doesn’t end there.
Colorado-based record label Pretty Lights Music will also be joining the festivities. Pretty Lights Movement artists Michal Menert, Supervision, and Chris Karns are set to perform along with other mainstage artists including Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe presents: Eat a Bunch of Peaches, Washed Out, Evidence, and Kitchen Dwellers.
On the final day of the event, Reggae Rise Up will be closing out the festival with a Reggae Sunday Earth Day celebration featuring performances from Protoje, Nattali Rize, RDGLDGRN, and more. On The Block also partnered with World Cannabis Week to present a 420 Challenge and 420 Bazaar. There is even an official afterparty!
