Black Mags 2 - The Cool Kids Celebrate Ten Years Of The Bake Sale EP

The Cool Kids Revamp Their Classic Song For New Single “Black Mags 2”

Let’s throw it back over a decade to 2007. I was a precious little kid in jr. high, with the whole world at my fingertips. Yet, all I would do was go home from school and log on to Myspace, duh. I would get lost digging through the thousands of independent artists who posted their music on there. That’s where it happened, I fell in love. The Cool Kids stole my heart and I never got it back.

I stumbled across their mixtape, Totally Flossed Out, on Myspace. Now, “A Little Bit Cooler” is still my jam, but the stand out track was “Black Mags.” Chuck Inglish and Mikey Rocks were storytellers. They told tales of riding bikes and hanging with the squad, cold chillin’ and at the time, that’s all I did. They spoke my language and I listened intently.

The Cool Kids – “Black Mags”

The Cool Kids broke my heart in 2012 by going their separate ways. Both succeeded with solo projects but it wasn’t the same. The clouds finally lifted in 2016 when they announced that they were reuniting and would be dropping a new album, Special Edition Grandmaster Deluxe. The album showed refinement and growth, it was also obvious that they missed each other. Now, to reiterate their polished talents they revamped one of their classic track for “Black Mags 2.”
