Notedly, his recent track has a dreamy feel to it featuring soft chimes and synths. The song features an airy vocal performance from Constance that is perfectly paired with AIR APPARENT’s production.

The song’s fun and flirty lyrics are perfectly suited for eboys and egirls all over TikTok. “Cosmos” is the second release of the year following “three strikes” released back in February. AIR APPARENT shared a bit about his creative process and where he stands in his artistry.

How did the creative process differ between “Cosmos” and “three strikes”?

“Honestly, in practice, it was very similar in that all of the collaboration was remote. But I would say it was more involved at earlier stages since I drafted the first version of the lyrics and we went back and forth on the melody and lyric changes. ‘three strikes’ was one of my first times co-producing a track, so it was fun to be able to send stems over and have Mike change things up and sent them back. ‘Cosmos’ was fun in the same way, except with lyrics.”

What are your inspirations for production during this uncertain time?

“I’ve been listening to a lot of moody guitar music like Phoebe Bridgers, Snail Mail, SASAMI, and even some Blonde-era Frank Ocean and it’s a reminder to simplify when possible.”

What does the track “Cosmos” mean to you?

“[The song] “Cosmos” is about finding an escape with someone amidst the chaos. It’s inspired by spending quarantine with my girlfriend, who has honestly been a big reason I’ve been able to stay creative and happy despite the absolute chaos happening outside.”

Listen to “Cosmos” now available for streaming everywhere.
