BREAKING: Alison Wonderland Liquidates Tour Company, Suffers Losses

News broke over the weekend that acclaimed EDM artist Alison Wonderland had to liquidate the touring company she used for her Wonderland Scarehouse Project tour in her native Australia. The tour stopped in Melbourne, Brisbane, Sydney and Auckland, playing in remote warehouses in order to avoid noise complaints. The tour featured a stacked lineup with artists such as A$AP Ferg and Party Favor.

Despite the fact that Alison Wonderland was playing in her home country accompanied by a star-studded supporting lineup, the tour was cited as suffering extreme losses at the expense of Alison Wonderland, her promoters, investors, and supporting team. The team chose to liquidate the touring company, Wonderland Touring Party, Ltd., to help recoup a reported $776,000 in owed cash.

EDM news blog YourEDM was able to reach out to Alison Wonderland’s team, who responded with this statement:

“Tireless efforts are continued to be made in order to settle outstanding supplier balances from the festival tour.

The festival tour as a whole incurred significant losses, due in large part to extreme weather the weekend of the VIC event resulting in relocation in just 24 hours. Liquidation of the company was actioned as a last resort and the only way the promoters and investors were able to move forward with the process of reimbursing affected parties.

The people who lost the most money in this situation are Alexandra Sholler (Alison Wonderland) and the other investors/promoters. She suffered a huge personal financial loss and has waived her claims in order to make sure other debtors receive more. Her team are very committed to continuing to work in assisting affected suppliers and the liquidator in recovering all outstanding monies to distribute accordingly.”

According to the statement provided, Alison Wonderland’s team counts the loss towards bad weather and having to relocate venues. The liquidation is said to be a “last resort”.

With Alison Wonderland currently on an international tour for her album Awake under a different touring company, we can only hope that her current tour will tell a different financial story.
