Allen Iverson and The Players Tribune published a long-form article shedding light on various moments in his life. Starting things off with a hilarious story about Larry Hughes, Iverson talks about Hughes running out of gas in Iverson’s Bentley (car) in West Philadelphia.

The most powerful part of his article was about an experience with Iverson’s Coach at Georgetown. At a game against Villanova, fans had dressed up in orange jumpsuits with a sign that said “ALLEN IVERSON: THE NEXT MJ”, except MJ was crossed out to say OJ.
Because of Allen Iverson’s history, his life experiences, these fans were doing everything they could to embarrass and disrespect him. He shared that Coach Thompson sent the team inside the locker room while he went and talked to the refs, threatening to forfeit the game if they didn’t take care of those four fans.
