Listen To Aly & Fila @ Tomorrowland | New Album Coming September 18th

How many artists can you name play at Tomorrowland year after year? To narrow that down even further, how many artists do you know host a stage at the biggest festival in the world? Or play at three different stages over the duration of the festival?

Aly & Fila and their label Future Sound of Egypt continue to charge ahead in the world of trance. Hosting their own stage for the second year in a row at Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, and playing a total of three separate sets, dozens of new tracks were shown off to our amazement. In an interview with Ruben de Ronde of A State of Trance, Fadi also stated that their fifth studio album, “Beyond the Lights”, will be released on September 18th, following their FSOE 500 celebration at the Great Pyramids of Giza.

I wish I could share with you all of these incredible masterpieces, but I’ve found my top five favorite unreleased tunes out of the SIX hours that Fadi played. That’s right, he played a two hour set for FSOE, a one hour set for A State of Trance, and a three hour warm-up set on the main-stage! Most artists of this caliber choose to play it safe and prerecord most of their sets, but Fadi delivered a unique performance on each of these stages.

While this isn’t entirely new (it was the intro track played during their set at A State of Trance 800), it is obvious that a ton of work has been done to make this the proper banger it deserves to be. Everything is so much smoother than the first plays earlier in the year, and it will serve as the Future Sound of Egypt Episode 500 anthem. They have already announced two shows of the “10 or 12” Fadi told us in our interview with him at Lucky, so hopefully we will see many more dates announced!

I love when producers take a familiar formula with structuring a dance music track and throw a loop in it, causing a feeling of surprise when this formula is broken. We still don’t know who is the mastermind behind this wonderful creation, but I’m willing to bet this is a new track on Aly & Fila’s upcoming album. It’s still a little rough, but what we have already is just phenomenal in its own right. Instead of a build to a single drop, we get two different drops, with a goosebump-raising build in between.

While this isn’t an entirely new track either, I still can’t get over the dynamics. The way the builds continue to grow on top of one another is something special. We covered this track when they played it at A State of Trance 800, but with a cleaner cut, I couldn’t help but share it once more. If there were ever a textbook example of what uplifting trance should aim to be, this track would be it, as it meets all requirements for a transcendent, out of body experience.

Sue McLaren’s vocals are so heavenly; no wonder she is featured on many trance tracks. The level of euphoria in this track matched with the calming voice chanting “I surrender to a brand new day” legitimately made me cry while at work, and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

I love the unique sounds used in this one. I can almost guarantee it is a work of The Thrillseekers, probably under his Hydra alias. True euphoria within the entire track, with soft yet energetic kicks make this a masterpiece of euphoric trance. You can trust that Aly & Fila find only the best of the best when it comes to this form of art.
