Aminé dropped a surprise project with little heads up. The only warning he gave was an album teaser the night before. Aminé never hesitated to show off his vocal capabilities in Good For You, and he shines even brighter in ONEPOINTFIVE.

The project is titled ONEPOINTFIVE because this is an EP/LP sandwiched in-between his first and (upcoming) second album. Aminé is no longer the banana boy singing about Caroline. ONEPOINTFIVE marks a new chapter for him.
The album starts off with DR. WHOEVER, a track that talks about his family, his adolescent youth, and love life post-fame. It is wrapped in a message regarding mental health and counseling. Aminé sheds light on the importance of personal mental well being.
REEL IT IN is one of my favorite tracks off the album, perhaps because of how upbeat it is. The background flute instrumental reminds me of Future’s “Mask Off,” since the use of flute in tracks is so rare. This track is lighthearted and fun, and Aminé doesn’t hesitate to flex on his listeners lyrically.
The project is filled with plenty of pop culture references with steady flow and rhyme on the tracks. Aminé is clever with his wordplay and lyrics. With lines like “I f**k up in every way, I f***k up like when I pull up on Sunday to Chick-fil-a” (SHINE) will make you smile and love him as an artist even more.
