Ari Lenox has arrived with her debut album Shea Butter Baby. Coming off a strong weekend at J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival the Dreamville artist is ready to embark on a tour of her own.
The Shea Butter Baby tour will visit 21 cities between the dates of May 12 – June 14, starting in Phoenix, Arizona and ending in Aris native Washington, D.C. The tour will feature guest artist Ron Gilmore Jr, Mikhala Jene, and Baby Rose all bringing their own unique elements to an already amazing tour.

Ari Lennox has never been afraid to show off her beautiful voice and that’s what we love about her. Since her 2015 signing with Dreamville, she has enchanted us with songs like “Backseat” featuring labelmate Cozz and “Goat” off her label debut 2016 EP “PHO” which gained major ssuppot among critics as well as peer Anderson .Paak. “Up Late” was her latest single before the release of the album Shea Butter Baby and is a beautiful example of what to expect from the talented artist.
The single exercises her amazing vocal range while detailing a romantic encounter . Featuring Masegos smooth saxophone, her sultry vocals drip over you as she sings lyrics like “Make your way North Hollywood/ Target lingerie/ Kissing your lips dipped in backwood tips/ I been crushing on you.” In a press release from Interscope Records, Lennox describes the song as a “neo-soul sexy sweet midnight delight.” Ari Lennox certainly has a way with words and that neo-soul is on full display in this lustful track.

The much anticipated album is finally here! Ari Lennox has kept us waiting long enough but the 12 track project featuring Dreamville labelmates J.I.D and J. Cole has been well worth the wait. Including hit lead up singles “Up Late”, “Whipped Cream,” and “Shea Butter Baby,” which was featured in “Creed II.” Shea Butter Baby is the culmination of Ari’s hard work and a representation of the appreciation she has for her fans.
The heart and soul that went into this project can’t go unnoticed. Her powerful vocals impress as always with her fun, sultry, seductive lyrics you’ll find yourself falling in love in no time. Ari Lennox is truly one of the emerging queens of hip-hip/R&B, Shea Butter Baby is a testament to that. I truly can’t wait to see what the future holds for Ari.
She has already achieved so much but this is only the beginning for the Dreamville siren. For now, let’s just sit back and enjoy this amazing album for the talented artist.
