Hyfethemadman is a smooth emcee out of Kent, WA that just put out his newest project Augusto Dinero with DJ JU. A true denizen of the West Coast and PNW, Hyfe shows off a diverse range of flows that hit hard and make me want to cruise. The 9-track offering evokes different emotions that are all generally bopping. The tracks go from head-nodding deep in your head, to getting lit while swerving the whip. With a bonus track that saw production from DJ Nayte, local producer DJ JU supplied the spacey boom-bap collection of jams that Hyfe laid his cadences over.
This project took around a year of recording to complete, with it representing almost a decade of activity from Hyfe in the PNW scene. Previously, the dude was known as a member of hip-hop collective The Rain Gang. His charismatic energy has seamlessly shifted to his solo work.
About a year ago he let loose a music video for his cut “Got It Like That” that saw measurable success. The PNW-rich visuals woke people up more to his movement. Augusto Dinero is hard evidence of the work he’s put in over the years. With each track, he’s saucing on us in a multitude of ways. Check out the visuals for “Got It Like That” to get a taste of The Madman’s flavor. You can also find this track on the full-length.
Hyfe The Madman – “Got It Like That”
Listening to the album, I immediately feel some Wiz Khalifa’s Rolling Papers kind of vibes in the production. Some of Hyfe’s delivery has that same West Coast delivery over expansive beats, with a healthy mixture of current flows interlaced. Hyfe covers classic rap topics of bossing up, flexing, and making the shit look easy.
Hyfethemadman’s got an engaging flow that keeps me vibing throughout. In an equally West Coast fashion, each track has a notable hook that you’ll be jamming on by the end. Augusto Dinero is currently available on Soundcloud, with the project hitting streaming platforms sooner than you think.
