For now, recreational cannabis is not for sale in Canada, however, medical marijuana is alive and well. When traveling from the US, buying weed in Vancouver BC is possible at most medical shops with two forms of ID. Your driver’s license and passport will do.
RMR took a trip to Vancouver to experience their cannabis market. In one day, we traveled to three dispensaries across the city, and we purchased cannabis at all of them. The Vancouver BC market is much different than expected. You can open up the jar and smell the product before a budtender weighs out your purchase.
Most stores separate the strains displayed, organizing them as indica or sativa with at least four to six choices in each category. Gram prices vary from $8-$15 depending on strain and store and a lot of locations offer great eighth (3.5 gram) price breaks.
All in all, buying weed in Vancouver BC is as easy as a Google searching “buying weed in Vancouver BC.” Traveling as an American, make sure to bring two forms of ID and enjoy those BC buds!
