On Friday, June 9, the Seattle World Tour will stop off in Capitol Hill at the new location of the beloved Café Racer. After a long time nestled in the heart of the University District, the beloved community focused cafe and art space shut down and needed to regroup and find a new home. With the closure of the long-running Barca during the pandemic, came a new chapter for Café Racer as they took over the lease at 1510 11th Ave. Since their reopening, Café Racer has started hosting weekly events that bring out all sorts of different people. They are a vibrant light in the neighborhood and will be the perfect hub for the fourth night of the 2023 Seattle World Tour.
Lineup for Night Four of the 2023 SWT
Breaks & Swells
For more than a decade, Breaks & Swells have been perfecting their unique blend of soul, rock, funk, jazz and pop. Their passion comes through in the performance, always giving a high energy, and powerful delivery every time they hit the stage. If the exuberant instrumentals don’t capture your attention right away, Marquetta Miller’s vocals surely will. The entire band is equally as talented with Derrick Jones on drums, Brice Ervin on bass, guitarist Dylon Tubb, Noah Goldberg on keys, Sam Morrison on saxophone, and Jason LaMar Chambliss on trumpet. In February of 2023, they released their second LP, Entomology. Give that a listen as you prepare to see them blow the roof off of Café Racer.
Blake Anthony
Blake Anthony is truly a hip-hop Super Saiyan. When he steps on stage, he showcases just how out of this world his talents are. By harnessing his ki, Blake manipulates words and different rhyme schemes to create a verse that hits you like a Kamehameha blast. Over the years, his power levels have grown, and he has transformed into many different versions of himself producing a dynamic range of sounds within his discography. His most recent offering, the EP Must Be God features production from longtime collaborator Wffls and gives us a glimpse into what his life as a Saiyan is like.
Claudine Magbag
Bedroom pop star, Claudine Magbag makes music from the edge of the bed. She taps into the vulnerable energy of the most private, cozy room in one’s home and creates songs that resonate deep in your soul. Having spent a lot of time isolated as a kid, she nurtured her hobbies, exploring her desires and is now flourishing in those passions she developed. The Seattle World Tour has watched Claudine grow over the years and is excited to have her performing for the fourth night of this year’s tour.
Cherry Ferrari
This saucy duo is here to have fun and experience life through music. Cherry Ferrari was started by Emma Wang and Oliver Crosby, a couple of teenagers who take inspiration from classic disco funk, as well as modern pop. The two have only been a thing on the scene for a little over a year, but within that short time frame have established themselves as a new intriguing band that is one to watch out for.
