Caj Encee is synonymous with strategy. Making it no surprise that his newest release is called Emerald Playbook; Caj plots and schemes every move while holding himself to a high standard. Cooked up organically one afternoon, this quick two-track project is a collaboration with Big Jone$. I was thrilled to see these two work together, both Caj and Jone$ have similar rap styles. Their delivery and vocal inflections mix together so well it creates an underlying harmony in these aggressively assertive songs.
Now, “Plays,” is a pretty dope track, don’t get me wrong, but, to me, the real M.V.P. here is “No Love.” Dripping with swagger, the ostentatious track is all about being relentless with your confidence in your journey to the top. The Dyllyn Greenwood shot music video bounces different video clips around the screen to the rhythm of the beat. The freshness of this video treatment solidifies the brilliance of this track, for me, and adds to its success.
