The Cakezz Strain by Canna Organix: The Best Of Wedding Cake and Zkittles Combined

When it comes to growing cannabis, brands that utilize greenhouse growing methods are a dime a dozen. While this growing method is known for its high-quality yields, brands who utilize it typically play it safe in the realm of strain curating. One greenhouse brand that stands out for its unique and exotic strain choices is Canna Organix, and they prove it with their Cakezz strain.

When our team searched for the brand’s products at Dockside Cannabis, one of our favorite Seattle dispensaries, their knowledgeable staff guided us on the selection, pointing us in the direction of Cakezz. The strain is a hybrid cross between (Zkittlez x Wedding Cake) x Zkittlez.

Appearance

Right off the bat, Cakezz stands out on the shelves with its thoughtful packaging. The nylon bag features a window for viewing the chunky nugs; a feature made with the customer’s shopping experience in mind. The bright green nugs give off a frosty appearance due to the thick layer of crystal trichomes that cover them.

Once you open the bag, the strain releases a doughy, cakey aroma that has elements of the citrus from the Zkittlez parentage shining through. The terpene profile on the Cakezz is complex, which gives it such a layered aroma and flavor profile. The most dominant terpene in the strain is Caryophyllene. Caryophyllene is known to have a strong ability to interact with CB2 receptors which are responsible for the non-psychoactive benefits of THC. This means that Cakezz is a great contender for a medicinal strain. Other popular strains that contain Caryophyllene include Girl Scout Cookies, Bubba Kush, Chemdawg, and Sour Diesel.

Snapping the nugs in half produces even more of that doughy, citrus aroma that is similar to a lemon cake. The inside of the nugs show a sticky layer of resin that coats the bud.

Experience

The first hit of the Cakezz strain is very doughy on the upfront flavor coming from its Wedding Cake lineage. As you breathe out, the taste settles in with notes of citrus and candy from the Zkittlez. Finally, the strain leaves behind a doughy aftertaste. This flavor profile provides a well-balanced and full-circle experience for users, starting with the notes of Wedding Cake, to the Zkittlez, and back to Wedding Cake again.

This batch of the strain contained 22.1% THC–a decently potent amount for THC hunters. The overall effects of the strain however are determined by more than just the THC. The Cakezz strain could offer a well-balanced experience. Users may experience a potentially heavy dose of relaxation paired with a possible calming effect on the mind.

Cakezz is a good choice for anyone looking for a strain to pair with movie watching, hanging with friends, or spending time in nature. As far as the health benefits, Cakezz has the potential to aid in the treatment of anxiety, chronic stress, and mood swings.
