One of Seattle’s top up-and-coming artists Campana, front man of the hip-hop group Cosmos, dropped his new EP The Burner Tape. last night, right under everyone’s noses. The second song on the five-song EP, “Burner,” has visuals already! This isn’t the Campana you know dancing and grooving through a Cosmos set — this is the flex.

The Burner Tape. is meant to showcase the spectrum of flows and styles Campana can span with ease. This is a kid with mad plans and schemes that seem only mildly unveiled at this point. He’s been on one since Cosmos rode out to Prince’s mansion to perform in a battle of the bands last year. He’s hungry, and he wants to keep eating.

He recently performed in May at The THESIS showcase that Respect My Region hosted in Portland, and it sold out! He also hopped back up to Washington to do the same showcase at the Nectar Lounge, which was also to veritable success. This is a kid with connections and big dreams, and we love to watch him succeed.

You’ll see names on this EP you’ve definitely seen before, such as Tyler Dopps and JAGA. On a Seattle tip, the engineers include Elan Wright, Nima Skeemz, Seth Macdonald, and Pants . . . these are known hustlers and creators in the 206, don’t sleep! The Burner Tape. takes on content you haven’t heard Campana broach in the past; it picks up his stack of cash, and waves it in your face. Are you listening? Are you watching? Because you should.

Keep it locked on this dude because he’s building an empire, and Seattle is gladly giving him the keys.
