Canadian Summer Music Festival Season

Exploring What The Canadian Summer Music Festival Season Has To Offer

Summer is finally coming to an end in the Northern hemisphere, which means festivals will be going into hibernation here soon. I was able to make it to quite a few different festivals this season and still have a couple more to attend. This past Canadian summer music festival season gives me high hopes for what next year will be like. Winnipeg’s ManyFest and the Rolling Stones Unzipped Exhibit will likely wrap my summer 2022 events list.

2022 Canadian Summer Music Festival Season – A Review

In June, Canacity sponsored Summer of Sound. Now, when you’re advertising a fire line up featuring Alesso and Jauz, along with a cannabis sponsor, you’re bound to have a packed house. Although, I did speak with several patrons who had weed confiscated upon entering. That didn’t stop them from linking up inside though.

Soca Reggae Fest, Winnipeg Fringe Fest, and Bank Side Music Festival banged out dynamite productions with open minded event organizers and staff. I was able to connect with bands, media, and other event personnel.

When Will Canada’s Cannabis Act Allow Safe Consumption Areas?

The next review of Canada’s Cannabis Act is on October 17th, 2022. The biggest topic of discussion being loosening restrictions towards cannabis consumption areas, zones, or lounges. Canadians can expect more news regarding removal of fogged glass, hours of operation, delivery services, safe consumption amounts and boundaries, and recreational growing.

Cannabis sponsorship, mobile dispensaries and free non-infused cannabis samples have officially been introduced at Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Authority of Manitoba (LGCAMB) licensed events. Fleurysh Ventures Ltd., a freelance media service, is officially sailing the scene. Wherever there is music, weed and food, is where you will find me.

Free non-infused cannabis beverage samples were a hit at the 2022 Burt Block Party at the Burton Cummings Theater. I was able to capture the Headpins, Streetheart, and Nazareth from the media pit. As well, I was in the mix for Cancer Bats, PUP, and RISE AGAINST. All my footage is available on my TikTok, be sure to like, follow, and subscribe while you’re there.

Respect My Region COO Joey Brabo Trekked North From LA To Canada

Respect My Region, COO, Joey Brabo, even trekked north from LA to Canada for a festival. Like a true voyageur, he camped for three nights at Shambhala Music Festival. Joey was able to connect with many familiar faces and met just as many new ones. A bunch of interviews and recap footage is available on the Respect My Region YouTube channel.

I enjoy attending family-friendly music festivals; my oldest son’s first show was KISS Monster Tour when he was only eight! Like father like son, my first show was KISS ’96 in Winnipeg. Expect to see me in 2023 with a crew of spunky-funk next generation digital trappers!
