Liberty Reach is nestled in one of the rainiest parts of Washington state. Rain is synonymous with western Washington. Rain is the first thing that comes to someone’s mind when you mention the Pacific Northwest. Liberty Reach recently dropped their Candy Rain strain, a sweet-smelling hybrid that smells nothing like a rainy day in Washington.
This hybrid strain is a combination of London Poundcake and Gelato creates an aroma reminiscent of fresh-baked Christmas cookies. Frosted like a purple and green Christmas tree the tightly packed buds could decorate a gingerbread house. Both parents are on the indica side of the hybrid side. Perfect for relaxing inside during one of these cold Washington nights.
Cracking open the first nug releases a kushy aroma paired with a doughy aroma that caused me to bring the nug even closer to my nose. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the flavor as I was the smell, there was a spice taste that came out when smoked using my hemp wick. The high was relaxing but not as potent as I expected. I wanted more from a strain with parents like Gelato and London Poundcake.
