Nobody ever expected a stash container manufacturer based out of Boulder, CO to be the catalyst for change in the cannabis industry. That is exactly what Canniloq is aiming to do. The company creates a secure way for stoners to store their stash, containers made out of stainless steel and aircraft grade aluminum. They’re constantly promoting responsible cannabis use.
However, they do things a little bit differently. Their website states,
“Canniloq aims to show that responsible cannabis use starts with responsible manufacturing. And as stash container manufacturers, we have a responsibility to those who have been sent to prison because of the war on drugs.”
They are not all talk.
They donate 10 percent of their profits directly to the ACLU to help them combat the war on drugs. As they continue to grow, they vow to only hire formerly incarcerated individuals to manufacture and assemble their products. We spoke with an executive at the company who told us, “The racial disparities in the cannabis industry are staggering. People of color get arrested at drastically higher levels than white folks and are given a fraction of the opportunity in the legal sector. This isn’t right and needs to be changed.”
Their #unloqthetruth campaign invites retailers, recreational shops, and others in the industry to join them in their movement for equity and justice in the cannabis industry.
