Capitol Hill Block Party Breaks Hiatus Returning To Pike Street This July

It’s been literal YEARS since the last Capitol Hill Block Party. My little live music fueled heart is fluttering in anticipation for the weekend-long festival returning this July 22-24th. I’ve heard a lot of mixed feelings towards this year’s lineup. I personally feel like it has the right mix of fresh faces and Block Party alumnus. Having dug through and listened to every single artist listed, I can also confidently say that there is quite a bit of diversity within the artists. To me, the CHBP 2022 lineup feels super comforting, especially after coming out of a long isolation.

Headlining and bigger name standouts this year, for me, are IDK, Flo Milli, Toro y Moi, Danny Brown, Tkay Maidza, Jai Wolf, and Evan GIIA. But honestly, they’re lower on the list for me. Artists like, Seiichi, Laureli, TeZaTalks, Ariana Deboo, Rell Be Free, and Motus have me way more excited for this year. The headliners usually do a majority of the work in bringing the crowd out, but the heart and soul of what CHBP is all about is the community who also come out to support the hometown heroes.

I’m not going to lie, though, I do have a list of like 36 different artists that I would like to see perform. A majority of the lineup has a vibe that is right up my alley and even those that are out of my comfort zone are talented enough that I would take a moment to check them out. Plus, a lot of these artists have worked with each other before, which I thought was pretty special.

I want to give a quick shout out to all of the local artists and bands on the lineup. As much as we want the entire city to be performing at Block Party, I feel like it’s a special honor to be asked to play the festival. It usually means that you’re actively being a part of your community and getting your name out there enough for folks to take notice.

You can purchase single, two-day, three-day passes, or a weekend-long VIP access pass. Ticket prices start low and get more expensive the closer the festival gets. So, get those tickets quick!
