Capitol Hill Block Party Matching Up To $5,000 In Donations For Local Non-Profits

For the 23rd year in a row, Capitol Hill Block Party is taking over Pike Street. In a time of such rapid change in Seattle, CHBP wants to emphasize our artistic community. “As Seattle grows, we’re passionate about preserving an environment that supports arts, culture and public gatherings,” said Jason Lajeunesse, CHBP owner, and producer. “That’s why we’re matching donations made with ticket sales to our signature summer event to benefit local non-profits like Jubilee Women’s Center, The Vera Project, Artists for Progress, and Lifelong. As well as providing free community programming like auxiliary DJ sets, Yoga and Barre classes at Cal Anderson Park, and the Battle on the Block Skate Competition.”

Check out the payment plan CHBP offers through Affirm which allows you to pay in installments. If you, unfortunately, can’t make it to the festival this year, you can totally still donate and help fundraise. Capitol Hill Block Party will match, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 collectively for these non-profits.

To further support the art community of Seattle, Block Party has curated a series of free events throughout the month of July. Kicking off that series is their CHBP Poster Show at Vermillion Art Gallery. Taking place on Thursday, July 11th, from 7-11pm, the show will feature unique poster designs for CHBP 2019 artists. Celebrating over 40 local graphic designers, all the artwork will be for sale. 100% of the proceeds will be going directly back to the designer.
