That’s why when we come across a craft strain like the Cherry Fritter by Fresh Baked, there’s no stopping us from trying it out.
In this review, @JoeyJayPing and Alex from Calyx Distribution tell us if the Cherry Fritter strain is made with the artistic caliber of quality that we expect from a craft cannabis brand.
The Flower
Cherry Fritter is a hybrid strain made up of a cross between Apple Fritter and Cherry Pie. The flower has a THC level of 25.63% and total cannabinoids at 29.83%. In other words, the strain is a potent one that should leave the user feeling a deep level of relaxation.
First Impressions: The 1G Pre-Roll
Joey and Alex’s first impressions of the Cherry Fritter strain comes from the Fresh Baked one-gram pre-roll. The joint comes rolled in a RAW Paper Cone with a Fresh Baked branded mouthpiece. The dark green bud doesn’t come packed too tightly inside. The joint has a slightly soft, squishy feel; an indicator of an even burn that won’t be hard to pull from.
The Cherry Fritter pre-roll is housed in a recyclable glass jar that has the strain and brand name. The rest of the label includes very little additional information. For one, there is no information on the genetics or terpene profile of the strain.
As a consumer, it’s important to know what you’re smoking. For future purchases, or simply to know if you like or dislike a strain, it’s helpful to have this information on the package.
Additionally, from the perspective of the brand, it’s important to include information like social media handles and the website address. These types of information are avenues for learning more about the brand and the product. The lack of information was definitely a miss for Fresh Baked.
Three-Hit Review
The first hit of the Cherry Fritter strain is a dry one, meaning before the joint is lit. Joey’s first taste brings flavors of sweet pine and earth. Jayping describes the flavor as similar to Sour Diesel; hints of gas, but with an added fruity taste that brings the sweetness.
The second hit is a real one, and as Alex sparks the pre-roll he notices that the taste of the funky gas becomes stronger than the sweet flavor when it’s lit. The high is immediate and cerebral for Alex. For Joey, he experiences both a body high and a heaviness behind the eyes. Once he felt the euphoric high, Jayping was quick to describe the Cherry Fritter as “one of those strains that improve your environment”. The third hit brings the sweet taste back to the forefront, and reinforce the good experience for both Joey and Alex
Final Thoughts
The Cherry Fritter flower is one of those strains that you need in your life. However, with the Fresh Baked pre-roll, there is definitely room for improvement. Although Joey’s experience smoking the product was amazing, the lack of genetics information or brand information on the bottle made the $28+ tax price of the pre-roll too high Apple Fritter and Cherry Pie.
If you’re not a smoker that cares about the information of your bud, then you should absolutely try this product. Joey and Alex’s experience smoking the Cherry Fritter led them to give the strain a score of 9.25 out of 10.
