COSMOS – Moonshine Album | Seattle Hip-hop Band

One show may not always break a band but one show can surely put a band on the map. COSMOS were relatively unknown until they won the EMP Soundoff competition last year. The same platform that truly helped elevate Dave B in our city’s local music scene. Since then the band logged 40 shows in 2016 and put together their debut project, COSMOS Moonshine.

The 10 track album features hip-hop infused with jazz, soul and electronic sounds by the 5 piece band. They have performed at Sasquatch & Bumbershoot this year while topping out at 40 shows during 2016. They have found it difficult to fulfill every show request as some of the band is under 21. The group’s age ranges from 16-22.

Moonshine sounds like an intergalactic journey. The band brings a crazy element to the overall sound and Campana’s vocal tone is reminiscent of Isaiah Rishad. The maturity level Campana and company bring to the music is refreshing. In a world of turn up hits where artists mask insecurities with materialistic ambitions, we find a group of kids firmly grounded in who they are. They just happen to be traveling through space and time searching for similar beings.
