DJs to Look For in 2017 (Part 1)

Here at Respect My Region, we’re always looking for the next big thing or the most underrated talent. I’ve put together a list of 10 artists everyone should keep an eye on as we progress through 2017.

~~ Sautrah ~~

Sautrah is an artist out of Boise, Idaho who has been making music since 2011. Self proclaimed black metal chick of bass music, Sautrah was a resident DJ at an old Boise bar called Crowbar.

~~ Akoma ~~

Fresh off the North West block, Akoma is an up and coming DJ out of Spokane.  Another DJ that throws down heavy sets, Akoma’s mixing has me excited to see what originals she puts out. The darker and lower the frequencies, the better.

~~ Bionica ~~

Bionica is a DJ out of Seattle who is in it for love. With no intent on being famous, this girl is a blast to see live. Her passion shines through and I low-key wish she’d try to turn her talent into something.

~~ Crystal Fresh ~~

Crystal Fresh is a DJ out of Canada who has been in the game since 2002. What attracts me the most to Crystal Fresh is the beloved double drop that she has picked up from SKiSM. Keep an eye out for her upcoming festival in Jamaica this year.

~~ J.F. Killah ~~

J.F.Killah is an artist out of Vancouver who has been around since 2005. Her classical training on the piano shines through in her ability to play on emotion and energy in her sets. J.F.Killah has performed at Shambhala, Bass Coast ad Rifflandia.

~~ Rezz ~~

Rezz has been in the game since 2013 and has had a quick rise to the top. Easily one of the most popular bass artists out there, Rezz recently released an EP on Mau5trap that I cannot get enough of. Let me warn you, once you start listening to her you won’t be able to stop.

~~ Alison Wonderland ~~

Alison Wonderland has probably one of the best bio’s I’ve read in a while and a great sound to match. Originally fom Australia, Alison Wonderland has been praised by Annie Mac, Diplo and more. I can’t wait to see what this year does to her sound. <– (AWK)

~~ Lady Faith ~~

Lady Faith is from Iran and has been in the scene since 2007. First headlining the Q-dance in 2012, Lady Faith has since headlined extensively both domestically and internationally, bringing her own brand of American Hardstyle to the world.

~~ Reid Speed ~~

Reid Speed is one of my favorite drum and bass DJs currently. Founder of Play Me Records, her label has helped the careers of Dillon Francis, Must Die, Figure, Bare, Singularity, Cyberoptics, and more. I wouldn’t sleep on Reid Speed’s performances if you have a chance to see them.

RMR is always looking for the next big thing so feel free to let us know if you feel we’re leaving out certain artists or someone extra special. Reach out to us on Twitter @RespectMyRegion or via email at info@respectmyregion.com!
