Dom Kennedy Packs Neptune Theatre And Sells It Out

One of the most legendary names in West Coast spitters made a stop in Seattle recently—Dom Kennedy. This time around, the Los Angeles native brought his ‘Win or Lose Tour’ with him to the Neptune in the U District. I luckily caught the show and couldn’t have been happier with how the set went.

The last time he was in town, Kennedy played at the ShowBox Market, and his set was mostly filled with his older music. Dom played all the hits we hoped for and more. At the end of the show he even went from one side of the stage to the other high-fiving, shaking hands and signing stuff for everyone at the front.

Some things must be different this time around for Dom K. I saw people go up to the box office time and time again, only to see them turn right around. Because Dom Kennedy’s Win or Lose Tour was officially sold out. Before Dom took the stage we caught a few different special guests. Warm Brew, Jay 305 and Cozz did their part in warming up the crowd for the show. Each artist brought the energy needed to get the crowd ready for the final act.

Dom Kennedy finally took to the stage in proper fashion. From the side of the stage he came busting out to his hit song Christopher Columbus. A song which is arguably the best one off his new album Volume Two. Dom kept the ball rolling by playing all his older hits. Cuts from classics like—From the Westside with Love, Get Home Safely and more. He confidently played his most known song, My Type Of Party in the middle of the show, which was surprising and different from the last time around. This made for another raging show.

The show came to an end and everyone was ecstatic. Not only was it a fantastic show, but it was a night for the city. It was a place for friends to come together to share one mutual interest. I saw lots of familiar faces not only of those that I knew, but of popular hip-hop figures in the city. Legendary Seattle artists like Grynch and Sol showing face in the crowd tells you Dom gets the respect he deserves.

Dom definitely felt the love and the passion from the fans in attendance. I can speak for everyone that we all can’t wait for new music from him to drop! In the meantime, catch up with Dom on Instagram.
