Doozy Hits Home Run With Remix of Outkast’s Ms. Jackson

Outkast is a cultural phenomenon that started in the early 90s. From covers to remixes, OutKast has been graced by artists such as Weezer, ZHU, and San Holo, to name a few. Now, Doozy, steps up to the plate and hits a home run with his own remix.

Doozy, also known as Ryan Meeker, is a native of the Seattle area and has releases on Future Bass Records and Hybrid Trap, as well as original tracks/remixes he has released independently on his Soundcloud page. Just recently, he uploaded an eerie remix of one of OutKast’s most well-known songs (the number one being “Hey Ya!”).

He manages to keep a dark voice and tone in this song the entire time it’s being played, from start to finish. It’s creepy yet familiar sounds seem to keep me mesmerized when I’m listening to it. My favorite part of this song is the beginning, where it starts out with a sub bass with a low pass filter on it, then gradually builds up to the lyrics.

With a list of accolades under his belt, including DJ competition placements for Life in Color 2015 and “Seattle’s Best Trap 2015”, Ryan “Doozy” Meeker is gradually making a name for himself. Recently, Ryan had a track of his released onto Future Bass Records, called “Genesis” with Asylum, and currently, has about 145k views.

You can find Doozy at the Knitting Factory in Spokane on the 21st of October as direct support for Meaux Green and Levitate, alongside Dee Jay Soup and AMF.  You can get tickets here!
