After years away from the limelight, Earl Sweatshirt makes his return with Nowhere2Go. Produced by Adé Hakim Sayyad (fka Sixpress). A song that reflects of a rough start before music became his profession. Although there’s no word of a follow-up project, the low-fi loop acts as a testament of unspoken gratitude to those who help make him a household name in hip-hop.
Earl premiered the record on Zane Lowes World Record on Apple Music’s Beats 1. Through the interview, he described the track as “a reflection of where I was at that time.” Additionally, Nowhere2go acts as a statement that no matter how many years go by, he collects his best thoughts during that hiatus. Defined as a recluse in most of his music, his struggle has given him time to look back at where it all started. Giving praise to distinguished members of sLUms made up of Mike, Medhane, and Ade Hakim.
Also, extending his thanks to Sage Elsesser – a skateboarding icon turned Supreme model and longtime friend over the hazy production. A possible sign that Earl has grown up from his old ways and days of infamy with Odd Future. Whatsmore, he takes the time to release any new projects rather than soaking up the streaming licks. Three years later and Earl sees the opportunity to connect with fans and those who elevated his name to success.
