Throughout my life, I’ve been blessed to have traveled to more than 25 different states and two countries. Each trip was an adventure in its own right, complete with surprises and experiences that helped me grow into the person I am today. Traveling to a new city and becoming inspired by the culture and community helped Eddy Yang create his most recent EP titled, “A New City”.
Yang is an Asian American indie rock artist with a unique sound. His love for energetic guitar riffs and electronic beats was influenced by classic artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Television, and The Velvet Underground. Newer age inspirations include Kanye West and Chvrches which can definitely be heard throughout the entire project.
Eddy’s unique style combines rock n roll mythology with an Asian American perspective inspired by generations of creativity. Check out what he had to say about the project below.
“A New City EP was inspired by a trip to NYC, though it was recorded in Los Angeles, my hometown. I remember being inspired and wide-eyed while walking through NYC at night. A New City EP is about the feeling of being young and alive, when the world is still innocent and full of possibilities. It’s also about finding yourself – who you’re meant to be.” – Eddy Yang
