Must-Listen EDM Releases of 2023

“Rumble” – Skrillex, Fred Again, Flowdan

One of the most anticipated tracks of 2022 has finally dropped and has taken the internet by a storm. Skrillex, the dubstep legend who hadn’t released a new song since 2019, is now topping the charts with “Rumble.” This collaboration with one of UK’s most talented rising electronic producers, Fred Again, and grime MC Flowdan. Together, they combine bass, jungle, and dubstep with Flowdan’s deep flow to create a hard-hitting track that has proven impossible to take off repeat.

“Transport God” – Whyte Fang

Dark electronic Australian producer, singer, and songwriter Alison Wonderland brings her Whyte Fang project into focus through her new label FMU Records. She hopes that the label will be able to give rising stars a global platform without needing to succumb to algorithm-based marketing strategies. The Whyte Fang project showcases Alison’s harder, edgier style which her latest single “Transport God” is in line with.

She says she has put her heart and soul into this album, which is debuting on March 31, 2023. “I feel like so much of the experimental music I make is overshadowed by what my record label has picked to put into the forefront, and I need a home for that, because I really gravitate towards those beats.” The Whyte Fang project will also be showcased at Coachella this year, making it a huge year for Alison and her label.

“Make Me Feel”- The Chainsmokers, Cheyenne Giles

The Chainsmokers are coming in hot into 2023 with their bass house banger “Make me Feel” in collaboration with house music producer Cheyenne Giles. The song’s music video by French filmmaker Remi Molettee is a psychedelic dance representation using Stable Diffusion that accurately captures the essence of the song. The Chainsmokers say they are super proud of the song and are so happy to have worked with Cheyenne. “To all the producers out there, just keep pushing, be humble but hungry and believe in yourself the same way Cheyenne did.”

“Fever Dreamer” – SG Lewis feat. Charlotte Day Wilson & Channel Tres

After creating “Impact” together in 2020, the SG Lewis, Charlotte Day Wilson, and Channel Tres trio is back this year with the dance single “Fever Dreamer.” SG states that this song is about “all-consuming admiration for someone.”

SG Lewis commented on working with Charlotte Day Wilson & Channel Tres and said, “I’ve been a fan of Charlotte’s music for ages now and have wanted to work on something forever. We met up at my studio in LA, and ‘Fever Dreamer’ was the first idea we started work on. Channel and I work out of the same studios in LA a lot, and he was working in the room above around the time of the Charlotte session. One day he popped his head into the studio, heard the demo of ‘Fever Dreamer,’ and immediately started working on the missing second verse.”

“Deja Vu”- Fox Stevenson

Electronic music producer and singer/songwriter Fox Stevenson blends dance music with his pop-punk upbringing to create beautiful melodic tracks. His final single on his Enemy Brain Entertainment Suite EP, “Deja Vu” denounces those who do not uphold values or make a positive impact on the world. Next for Fox is a live three-piece band’ “I love melodies, I love big drums, I love big bass, and I love singing over it, and that is the live band.”

“Pantheon”- Argy and Goom Gum

The internet has recently been flooded with videos of Afterlife’s shows in Tulum that led their audience into an “Odyssey into the realm of the great unknown” through innovative mesmerizing visuals and breathtaking lighting. Afterlife’s 2023 campaign kicks off with Argy and Goom Gum’s ethereal track “Pantheon” which utilizes a “rousing vocal symphony, with a rolling bassline, an urgent melody and a goosebump-inducing breakdown to devastating effect.” The song quickly rose to #1 on Beatport’s Top 100 for Melodic House and Techno.

“The magic of music creation is about connecting with something inside you that is Universal.”

Argy said in promotion of this collaboration.
“New Horizons” – Alpha 9

Alpha 9, who you may recognize as Arty, has just released his progressive trance album under a new alias. The Anjunabeats album that released on January 13th bears “ALPHA 9’s signature, instantly recognizable sound, but it’s also future-facing and explores new horizons. It’s called New Horizons because it’s the journey from the first steps of ALPHA 9 to maturity.” Early this year, he will be taking this album to tour across North America- don’t miss out on what is sure to be an entrancing experience.

“Party Jumpin’”- Marshmello, Jamie Brown

Steering away from his recent pop music style, Marshmello returns to his original style of music in his new collaboration with Jamie Brown. With only a few lyrics, this song is a feel-good combination of happy melodies and chords that build up to an energetic drop. It’s no doubt that 2023 is going to be a great year for Marshmello who is already set to play at Ultra Miami and EDC Mexico.

“Let Me Go”- Sullivan King, Wooli

Sullivan King’s third album, Thrones of Blood, has been teased through the melodic bass single “Let Me Go” with dubstep icon Wooli complete with shattering bass drops and King’s familiar vocals and high-frequency screams. King announced his Thrones of Blood tour taking off in March 2023 and hitting 30 cities across the United States.

“Adam and I wrote “Let Me Go” about his fear of planes. I’m pretty sick of him always holding on to me when we fly next to each other and there’s a little turbulence. He’s really just not a great flyer tbh, and it’s f*****’ annoying, so Adam if you’re reading this…. let me go. Stop grabbing my hand.”

“Black Hole”- Craig Connelly (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix)

The standout 2013 trance banger “Black Hole” has a new groovy remix from Giuseppe Ottaviani that immediately makes you want to rave. The darkness of Christina’s lyrics is contrasted with euphoric snares, synths, and strings that set up the track for success.
