Emanuel Brown And B-Boy Fidget Create Tasty New Project “Smooth + Cream”

Seattle MC’s Emanuel Brown and B-Boy Fidget come together to collab on the new track “Smooth.” Emanuel and B-Boy have a great relationship both working and personal, this spills over into their music, knowing how to merge each others sounds seamlessly in this funky west coast track. Just like the title would have you think, Emanuel Brown flows on this track from their new project Smooth + Cream with a silkiness that compliments the beat. Knowing when to use different voice inflections to provide the best listening experience.

B-Boy Fidget comes onto the track with some venom in his bite. Entering in hot with the line “I take a bad bitch from a lesbian,” B-Boy is feeling like the man in this song. He adds a subtle change of pace that creates a refreshing dynamic, without a pulling a J. Cole and trying to go so hard he overshadows the rest of the track.

From hustling to music, it’s not unusual to see this dynamic duo together in the field. In the last year these two have swiftly, and strategically took over the Seattle scene in spectacular fashion. Recently performing with legends such as: Eric B & Rakim, Bun-B, Tha Alkaholiks, Nappy Roots, Zion-I, Black Milk, and a long diverse list of others.

Both artist currently have great solo projects out right now. Be sure to check out: B-boy Fidget – “No Compromise”, and Emanuel Brown – “The News” available now on all platforms.

Working together and finding what compliments each other is how to create a successful collaborative project. Sure, you could just send the beat, do your verses separately, and just send them in. That model has worked out OK. But, when artist take the time to perfect and craft their sounds to fit together you get a song that’s as dope as it is smooth.

Emanuel Brown

RMR: What got you into creating music?

Emanuel: I actually got into making music on accident. I was just around a lot of people who made music in middle school and one day someone asked me if I rapped or make music I said “no”. Then I tried and I haven’t looked back since.

RMR: How has your personal music taste helped you evolve as artists?

Emanuel:I’ve always been into artists who have something to say or share so that really helped me share my story. Lyrics and story telling are something that has really inspired me.

RMR: Using your platform as an artist what would you like to
accomplish outside of music?

Emanuel: Honestly I’m really into ownership so I would like to be a owner of restaurants or partnering with some tech businesses in some sort. To just do stuff outside of music that can pave a way for me and my family in thre future.

RMR: If you weren’t making music, what do you think you’d pursue as a career?

Emanuel: I don’t know because honestly I can’t see myself doing anything else anymore. At one time I’d have an answer for you but now I really don’t.

RMR: How did moving to Seattle from Virginia create new opportunities for you?

Emanuel: It was a big move that I’m really glad I did because if I didn’t do it I wouldn’t be where I am in life because there weren’t a lot of opportunities in Virginia that you see here in Seattle

RMR: How has your creative vision changed since becoming a father?

Emanuel: Time is everything, I’m no longer on my time I’m on mu family times so I have to make sure the things I invest I my time in are worth it because every minute doing something else is time spent away from my family.

RMR: What was the biggest thing you’ve had to overcome while chasing your dreams as a musical artist?

Emanuel: I would say respect, Because a lot of people don’t show respect when you give it and for me that’s something I hold very dear me and take seriously because as a person you want to be respectful people because you never know who you’re talking to.

RMR: When you aren’t making music, what do you like to do for fun?

Emanuel: I’m a home body so if I’m not making music I’m at home, chillen with my family, playing video games, and talking shit joking around with my friends and family.

RMR: How’s it been working with the homie b boy fidget?

Emanuel: It’s been good man, I really appreciate him. He’s one of my business partners and dear friends. I feel like we keep each other honest and moving forward. I’ve learned a lot from him as well and I’d like to think he’s learned a lot from me too, we push each other.

RMR: What are you most excited about with the smooth + cream project ?

Emanuel: I think I’m just more excited about people seeing a lot of stuff that hasn’t been released that really shows all the areas of what we can do with our music.

RMR: Which track is your favorite?

Emanuel: “Smooth” and “On Your Mind” are probably my favorite ones.
