EMI Blending Pop and Trap Music With Release of ‘Planet’

After Dope Music Festival 3, I heard a lot of buzz about a “white girl who killed it” as one of the openers. Although I may have missed her performance, I’m starting to really see where the buzz came from. EMI’s new release, Planet, is a crazy mix of RNB, soul, and trap music.

Definitely living in the ‘pop’ realm, the Seattle singer draws influence from ATL trap music. Ambient sounds, hard drums, and melodic bars all meet in the middle of a few genres. Check out the full project below.
