Erich Mrak is a Toronto-based pop/hip-hop artist with an experimental, emotional style that hits hard with relatable experiences. On June 23, Erich’s “Girls” was debuted off his catchy, melodic upcoming album ‘Glimpse.’
Mrak has only put out nine total songs on streaming platforms to-date. “Girls” is a welcome addition to this artist’s captivating pop repertoire. It’s quickly become his most popular track due to its undeniably funky rhythm and sugary vocal line. Looking deeper, you hear lyrics drenched in melancholy that gives it a Washed Out vibe.
Musical Talent Fashioned By Daily Life
Born in Ottowa, Erich’s life experiences led him to be influenced by hip-hop and pop music. Even more so inspired at a young age, the Toronto artist at age seven had written his first lyrics. By age 13 he had recorded his first song.
Today, Erich still puts in the hard work, as he grinds away at his piano while in quarantine. Erich plans on releasing charming living room cover releases in the coming months that will delight fans.

Everyone can agree; a break-up is brutal. However, despite the positive pop vibe in “Girls,” Erich Mrak points out why you should be there for your friend through a break-up—your friend needs you to help them see they can do better. “Girls” draws influences from artists like Post Malone, Tame Impala, and The 1975. You can tell with its bubbly synth tone, heavy guitar riffs, and solemn heartfelt lyrics.
Erich mentions the inspiration of the song, “Initially “Girls” was titled “Boys” and centered around the dynamic of a close female friend of mine going through heartbreak.” The message of “Girls,” however, remains clear.
