Excision and UBUR Drop New Brain-Manipulating Single Back to Back as the Harbinger of Subsidia’s Newest Volume

Excision and UBUR Drop New Brain-Manipulating Single “Back to Back” as the Harbinger of Subsidia’s Newest Volume

This Sunday we added some new tracks to our Fresh Drops playlist on Spotify. Our mix contains handpicked new tracks from DJ’s across the globe that manage to wow us with their drops and production skills. Today I’m gonna talk a little about Excision’s new track, and Subsidia Record’s newest compilation.

On May 19th, Excision and UBUR dropped Back to Back sampling rapper Armanni Reign. The sheer power of the drum and bass in this piece immediately granted it a spot on our playlist.

“Going back – to back – to back – to back – to back…”

Master of his own label, Excision has released this banger as the kickoff of Subsidia: Night Vol 4. This compilation surpasses expectations, and each track sustains the energy of the last consistently. This mix is ideal for any basshead, especially for working (out), studying or grinding in general.

The Subsidia: Night series is actually just one of three. Where Night focuses Heavy Bass, Dusk holds Experimental Bass tracks and Dawn contains Melodic Bass. The self-declared goal of Subsidia is to promote diversity in EDM, and this method shows how they plan to do so.

Something really nice about compilations like this one is that they give a lot of larger and smaller DJ’s an opportunity to shine equally. On one hand you’ve got names like FelMax and Dubscribe with over 100k monthly listeners. And then on the other you have newer names that have only been around for the past few years like SVVEATS and Autokorekt

Excision’s goal really seems to be to bring other DJs up and sustain them with a good platform to collaborate. The best part of this though is just how damn good it sounds. Even though this album has tracks from over 20 different artists, the quality of the music is steadfast. This album hits like a curated playlist because every song is a banger, and we can’t distinguish any “deep cuts” or dips in quality.

About Excision and Subsidia

Excision has become a fairly enormous name in the dubstep and DnB communities. If you have ever been to one of his sets live, you’ll know what it feels like to get your face ripped off by sound waves alone.

His discography goes back to 2006, but he struck gold ever since his collab with Pegboard Nerds and Mayor Apeshit on Bring the Madness, released on Monstercat in 2015. Soon after, drum-and-bass-mongering DJ Noisestorm created a breakbeat remix of the track which currently has over 14 million streams on Spotify.

Not even a year later, Excision drops Virus, a full length album. His track Throwin’ Elbows with surpassed that number, sitting at 16.5 million to date. That’s not even his biggest track today, either. With 1.8 million listeners too, the bassmaster is doing quite well for himself.

On September 11, 2020, Subsidia Records came out the gate with 118 new songs announced. Ever since then, volumes one two and three of Dusk, Night and Dawn have been pumped out.

This leaves approximately 18% of those tracks yet to be dropped. That said, it looks like we’ve got just a bit more to see from Excision’s drum machine movement that is Subsidia.
