6 THC Edibles Available at Florida Cannabis Dispensaries: Müv, Surterra, and Curaleaf

Cannabis has been medically legal in Florida since 2014, but it wasn’t until August 2020 that edible cannabis became legal in the state. With the demand knowingly high and the pandemic in full force, dispensaries rushed to be the first few to offer edible products. While some dispensaries like Trulieve led the way with edibles, almost every other Florida dispensary followed closely behind, now offering various edible products, from gummies and mints to cookies and brownies.

As a Florida medical marijuana card holder, I had the opportunity to try out multiple different kinds of edibles from various dispensaries in the state. Here is a roundup including reviews of six cannabis edibles in Florida. These products come from Curaleaf, Surterra, and Müv.

6 THC Edibles From Florida Cannabis Dispensaries: Müv, Surterra, and Curaleaf

Müv Milk Chocolate

Müv in Florida offers two types of cannabis chocolate edibles including Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate. They come in packs of 10, individually wrapped chocolate squares. This totals to 100mg of THC in the whole package, which costs $25. They do not come as strain specific or even categorized, so the effects can be something of a wild card. After a few hours, I can say that next time I would likely take the Milk Chocolate from Müv earlier in the day and spend a few hours being creative, with some relaxation to follow.

Additionally, Müv’s website states that the chocolate does not need to be stored in the fridge. But, because we’re in Florida, I believe it is the best option to keep it somewhat cold.

Texture & Flavor

Only hints of cannabis made it through the rich milky cocoa flavor, but don’t let that fool you. Each square holds 10mg of THC. The package advises that dividing in half is an option (5mg), and even makes it easy to split with a score through the middle. The texture is similar to widely manufactured chocolates. It is definitely less artificial tasting, though.

Overall, it has a pretty natural taste and doesn’t contain any crazy ingredients. Both the Milk Chocolate and Dark Chocolate are gluten-free, but only the latter is vegan.

Watermelon Wana Soft Chews from Müv

Wana Watermelon Soft Chews from Müv clock in at 10mg of THC per gummy. They are sold as a 10-pack for $25. The package warns that they will kick in at around an hour after consuming. If you’re an experienced user, you likely don’t need to plan the time of day to consume these, especially since they’re a hybrid. But, if you’re sensitive to edibles, you may wanna clear the rest of your day or start with only a half – or even a quarter.

The hybrid blend is infused with terpenes to enhance and balance the experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if these were to put you to sleep, but it’s also possible you might gain a feeling of alert calm that allows you to go about your day stress-free.

One of the biggest highlights of Wana’s Soft Chews is that they “won’t melt in the hot Florida sun.” I can confirm that this is true, as I entered a heat bomb in my car after leaving Müv. Compared to chocolates and other brands of gummies, these definitely hold up better than average.

Texture & Flavor

The texture of any gummies can definitely be hit or miss. That said, Wana is right on target with their Watermelon Soft Chews. The sugar-coated squares do a great job at ending up in your stomach rather than stuck in your teeth. The vegan and gluten-free gummies are bursting with natural flavors, indeed tasting just like a sweet and sugary watermelon. Only notes of cannabis poked through the strong fruity flavor, but don’t let that fool you.

Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews from Surterra

Surterra Fruit Chews Florida Cannabis Edibles

When deciding which edibles to try first in Florida, Surterra’s Coral Reefer Fruit Chews are a great start. Each gummy contains 5mg of THC, which is half the amount of most other gummies on the Florida market, such as Wana Soft Chews from Müv. This makes them a great first edible for less experienced users, especially due to the ease of splitting gummies, if preferred. The package contains 20 pieces, which equals 100mg of THC total.

The package fails to state (as does Surterra’s website) whether the Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews are sativa, hybrid, or indica. But based off of the known effects of edibles, you may want to save this treat for later in the day.

While some edibles are deemed okay in the heat, like Wana’s Soft Chews, Surterra advises the Coral Reefer Fruit Chews be stored in a cool and dry place. This could be the refrigerator, but the average temperature of your house should suffice nonetheless.

Texture & Flavor

Within the first bite of the Tangerine Chews from Surterra, I noticed a much different texture than the Wana Soft Chews – and frankly any other edible I have tried in the past. The gummy is dense and chewy, but surprisingly doesn’t stick to your teeth much. Unlike other gummies, these edibles are not coated in sugar, or anything else for that matter. But that does not make them any less tasty. In fact, they are full of flavor.

The tangerine flavor is strong and covers the cannabis oil pretty well. The gummy is still noticeably an edible, though, with hints of weed flavors peaking through. The strong citrus taste may not be desirable to some, but I know many fellow Floridians will appreciate the beloved tropical flavor. Next time you’re at a Surterra dispensary in Florida, consider trying out the Coral Reefer Tangerine Fruit Chews.

Curaleaf Sweet Heat THC Chews

During my first trip to Curaleaf in Titusville, Florida my mission was to pick up a pack of the Sweet Heat THC Chews. The name alone intrigued me, and had me curious if it was similar to Respect my Region’s own Mango Chili Lime CBD gummies. The budtender informed me that, though the flavor is solid, it doesn’t have much of a heat or spicy taste. Nonetheless I still grabbed a 200mg pack to try. Each gummy contained 10mg of THC, with a total of 20 gummies in the package. For $44, each chew is only around $2. However, Curaleaf often offers sales, bringing down the price substantially.

The label informed that the Sweet Heat THC Chews from Curaleaf are a hybrid, with origins stringing from Strawberry Diesel. Based on my experience, I can confirm the balanced hybrid effects.

Texture & Flavor

Upon ripping open the package, I was met with a sweet tropical aroma. I bit into the chews with little expectation flavor-wise, but was left decently impressed. Though the flavor was lacking any heat, the sweet flavor is pleasant. It is similar to a mango flavor, which the budtender also thought. I’m not a huge mango fan personally, but because the flavor was faint, I still enjoyed it. The texture was favorable compared to other gummies in the state, with none left stuck to my teeth.

The effects left me locked into the couch, but still able to get some minor work done. The effects reminded me of strains like Chemdawg and Stardawg, which leave you with a pleasant floaty feeling; but it keeps you alert enough to get things done as needed.

Curaleaf Arctic Berry THC Nano Chews

After getting a text for a great sale going on at Curaleaf, I decided to hop in the car for another trip. I hadn’t decided what I wanted prior to arriving, but I had been curious about their Arctic Berry THC Nano Chews for awhile now. In the picture on the website, it looks more like a white cube rather than the square, thin gummy it is. Because of the feature picture and flavor name, I had expectations that it may be similar to Ice Breakers gum cubes.

Upon arriving and chatting with the budtender (who was incredibly friendly), I had made up my mind that I would try the Arctic Berry THC Nano Chews. However, the budtender warned me that the flavor is not favorable amongst staff or customers. Nonetheless, I was curious to try them, especially at a discounted price.

Each package comes loaded with 100mg of THC split into twenty 5mg gummies. The Nano technology allows the chews to be faster acting compared to Curaleaf’s regular chews and others on the market. The gummies utilize “Nano-emulsion technology,” as “the edibles are infused with small, water-soluble cannabinoids that allow for faster, more efficient cannabinoid consumption.”

Texture & Flavor

Upon opening the package, I wasn’t taken aback by the smell, negatively or positively. The scent certainly wasn’t as horrid as the budtender made it seem, but the taste is the real test. Chewing into the gummy, I noticed a slightly different texture than the regular THC Chews. These chews have a very thin sugary coating, which adds to the nice texture.

Unfortunately, the taste is as bad as the budtender warned me. Honestly, it reminded me of cough medicine I took as a kid. Nonetheless, some people prefer this type of flavor AND it is sugar free, so Curaleaf will likely continue to sell this product. I personally wouldn’t purchase it again, but if you have curious taste buds or a specific diet preference, I definitely recommend trying out this product.

Strawberry Lemonade Squeeze THC Nano Drops from Curaleaf

During that second visit to Curaleaf in Titusville, Florida, I also picked up other products. One of these products is the Strawberry Lemonade Squeeze THC Nano Drops, which I claimed with my loyalty points. In fact, between the 40% off sale and my loyalty dollars, the product was completely free. It was almost a no brainer to purchase when the budtender suggested it to me.

I had definitely been curious for awhile to try out this product, as liquid edibles are not common in Florida. The Sunshine State does not yet have cannabis infused beverages, so the Squeeze THC Nano Drops from Curaleaf are the closest product to it.

Texture & Flavor

I was honestly way more excited to try the Nano Drops over the Nano Chews. I dove right in when I first arrived home (frankly, a little too quickly). The liquid is not meant to be swigged like I had done, which left a funky feeling in my throat. Instead, it is meant to mix in a drink. That is, unless you’re cool with the grimy taste of it on its own.

When mixing it in a drink, it doesn’t positively add to the beverage, necessarily, but it doesn’t really negatively contribute either. If you add more than the recommended dose, then it likely will make your drink taste a bit off. Each dose is 5mg with 150mg total in the bottle. Effects are said to kick in in about 15 minutes, which I can confirm from experience.
